George M. Madanat, M.D., F.A.A.P.  (retired)

Dr. George Madanat founded our clinic in 1975, and has since cared for tens of thousands of infants, children and adolescents within the San Gabriel and Inland Valleys.  Dr. Madanat has dedicated himself to the health of underserved children across the globe through his involvement in international relief organizations, among other numerous accomplishments. He has now retired from practice, and is enjoying spending well-deserved time with his family, including his wife of 40 years, his five children and eleven grandchildren. He also enjoys traveling, and can claim to have stepped foot on all seven continents.

Praful H. Shah, M.D., F.A.A.P. (retired)

Dr. Praful Shah has worked with Dr. George Madanat for over thirty years. He has cared for countless families throughout his time at Foothill Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic and has recently retired as of 2025. He and his lovely wife, Nina, have raised four beautiful, successful children. In his newfound free time, Dr. Shah enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, playing tennis and taking care of his six grandchildren.

Michael G. Madanat, M.D., M.B.A., M.S., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Michael Madanat is the eldest son of Dr. George Madanat. He completed his internship and residency training at UCLA Medical Center and Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and earned his pediatric board certification in 2010. Dr. Madanat is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, where he simultaneously completed his Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Healthcare Management. Dr. Madanat also holds a Master’s Degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Madanat serves on numerous hospital committees including  the “Transforming the Patient Experience Committee” and holds many leadership positions, including Board of Directors for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Physicians Network and as a Regional Pod Lead for Optum.  He is active in the community, and has served as team physician for the Glendora High School varsity football team, as well as a speaker and contributor for Mead Johnson, and "Lighten Up San Gabriel Valley", a regional obesity campaign. When he is not working, Dr. Madanat enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three sons, traveling, cooking, practicing photography, playing various sports and being outdoors. 

Lana Hadaya, M.S.N., R.N., C.P.N.P.

Lana is the youngest daughter of Dr. George Madanat and sister to Dr. Michael Madanat. She completed her Registered Nursing, Master's in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program through Azusa Pacific University, with high honors. Prior to joining Foothill Pediatric & Adolescent Clinic in June 2014, she worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Queen of the Valley Hospital, West Covina, where she developed special skills in premature and infant care. A good samaritan at heart, Lana has spent countless hours volunteering her healthcare services at churches, summer camps, and health clinics. Lana has a very cheerful personality, and she can often be heard singing Disney songs with her patients to lighten their mood. Lana is happily married and has two children. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, trips to Disneyland, eating ice cream and enjoying the outdoors.

Bernardine Celoni, M.D., F.A.A.P

Dr. Bernardine Celoni has been practicing pediatrics for over 25 years in the city of Arcadia and now practices out of our Pasadena Clinic. She enjoys creating meaningful relationships with families and has specialized training in helping patients with behavioral and special needs. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

Irma Gonzalez, M.D., F.A.A.P

Dr. Gonzalez completed her undergraduate, medical school and pediatric residency at U.S.C. After being raised in poverty, her greatest professional achievement was completing her medical training at one of the top notch hospitals in the nation. She has more than 30 years of experience as an independent practitioner in the Pasadena area and holds special interest in Emergency Room pediatrics. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and friends. 

April Gacuya, CPNP, MSN, RN

As a mother of 2 young children, April aspires to promote the health and well-being of children, while educating and empowering parents to feel confident in providing holistic care for their child. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a background of 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she received her RN and NP training. April completed a Dual Certificate program obtaining both degrees of a Master of Science in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner with a Pediatric Specialty at California State University, Long Beach and also currently serve as a full-time Faculty member of the Entry-Level Master of Science in Nursing Program in Azusa Pacific University. During her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, and traveling to see the world and learn about different cultures with her husband and two children. April is honored to touch your and your family’s lives as you strive to raise a healthy, happy family.

Sarah Wong, PA-C

Sarah graduated from Bryant University's PA program in 2024 after attending UCSD for her undergraduate degree. She knew she wanted to work in pediatrics ever since she was a pediatric MA starting out. Sarah feels lucky and joyful to now be working as a provider for children she treats. When she's not connecting with her patients at work, Sarah loves singing, playing piano, painting, crocheting, reading, hiking and traveling!
